This time Jodhpur trip...Rajasthan tour continued

It's morning again I reached to Jodhpur after finishing Ajmer trip. Jodhpur the land of Rajputana also know as blue city. The land represent royal Rajasthan as the second largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. Jodhpur have amazing sightseeing to see like royal palace Umaid Bhavan palace, Mehrangarh fort, Jaswantthada, Osian and so many. Again same like Jaipur Jodhpur also know by many names Sun City and Blue City very few know about this.
Sun city am not amazed because I think its hot, sunnny and bright weather. But Blue city is an interesting story if you stood at fort (Mehrangarh fort) and see the city you will find housed painted in blue so thats why its been know  as blue city. Also I came to know from my one of my friend that why people use to paint blue its because of its makes house cool in hot weather and also it keeps away mosquitoes from house. Isn't it good to know...

I started with Umaid Bhavan palace where apparently I stayed. This magnificent peace of architecture represents marvellous Royal palace. Royal palace also called "Chittar palace" because of the red local stone used to made this palace.  This is named under the ruler of the Jodhpur Shri Umaid singh ji. There is an interesting story behind this architecture marvellous which I came across is once upon a time there was draught and local people didn't had anything to do to earn there lively hood so great Ruler at that time had this idea of creating this palace so that people earn there lively hood and become employment project.

If am not wrong the architecture plan of the Uamaid bhavan came from London by some famous architect sorry not able to recall much... Umaid bhavan is located not far from the centre of city it may take 20 mins to reach to main market.

In modern time that is now has been divided in three areas Royal residence where still His highness Mr. Gaj Singh ji...One part is given to Museum and rest is a marvelous five start hotel!!
You might have stayed in so many five star hotel but staying in Umaid Bhavan actually gives you a Royal feeling where you can stay. My strong recommendation is if you are coming to Jodhpur and staying in other five start then you should consider the Umaid Bhavan because you won't get such kind of ambiance any where else. An unforgettable experience Umaid bhavan stay. The furniture you find in the rooms are Royal and antiques I have so may pics but they are very large in size give me sometime I will find some ways to reduce pic size and upload so that you can also feel it. Oops I forget to tell you that Maharah Umaid Singh ji who was incidentally the president of the British Royal Institute of Architects at the time of construction of this marvelous. Honestly speaking words are not enough to describe Umaid Bhavan you should visit and see.

You might have read about the famous international marriage hosted at Umaid Bhavan which is Arun Nair and Liz Hurley's marriage. Hey I have not forgotten about the unbelievable cuisines of Rajasthan. I will come back in the end of this blog...

Now again I tell you about oldest wonder of Jodhpur in Rajasthan which is Mehrangarh Fort. Mehrangarh fort was built by Ruler Rao Jodha on whose name Jodhpur is kept and who apparently founder of Jodhpur. Man Jodhpur fort  is one of the most majestic and one of the largest forts in India take my words...amazing built and marvelous architecture. The fort also have a great Museum to watch which have collection olden times "Palanquins,
howdahs (elephant seat), royal cradles, miniatures, musical instruments, costumes, furniture and many more...When you visit you will find Mehrangarh fort situated on very height from where you can experience the blue city and almost Jodhpur city. I have downloaded one of the low size pic for your snap.

Mehrangarh Fort has created history since from its inception. It is situated on height of around 400 + feet height above the city and as I told you before why people say its Blue city you will understand standing on fort on this height. Carving on the walls, door and windows attract easily any tourist for its beauty.

Man o man am not able to recollect all gates but there are seven I think gates and all created on the moment of each victory as memento of war. We can understand from the name itself as Indian say Jaypol means Vicotry, Fatehpol also means Victory…(Fateh stand for victory)…

Elephant Howdah's
One thing explicitly I remember is palm marks (imprints) which are there on the gates. Now to showcase the beauty to sustain this mammoth structure Rulers have converted some parts in Museum which exhibits unbelievable monuments like Palanquins, Howdahs (elephant seats), Royal rooms like Moti Mahal – The Pearl Palace, Sheesha Mahal - The Hall Of Mirrors, Phool Mahal - The Palace Of Flowers, Takhat Vilas - Maharaja Takhat Singh's Chamber. Am amazed still these royal rooms are maintained as it is…great work guys.

The moments you enters into the museum you will find palatial stuff like Elephant's howdahs…its kind of local traveling vehicle for Royal people…say it was 2 compartment wooden seats embossed with golden and silver sheet) and seat is put on elephant bacl..am sure now you are able to create a pictorial image. No then here it is for you....its above not able to align right sorry.

First Trip to Rajasthan

It's been long time when I went to Rajasthan. First time when I went I never thought I am going to love this place so much that I will visit frequently and start writing abou this.

My first experience was amazing and so much insightful that I decided to visit atleast once in two year. As everybody do I tried doing some basic reasearch through internet, friends and know abou the place, best time to visit Rajasthan. Few website I found useful are really worth visting...
I started my journey from Jaipur and it was November ending and afcourse the best to visit Rajasthan is from Mid October to Feb end because in March then it started getting hotter day by day. This is winters and now this Pink city looking very beautiful in the morning. I have so much to say so I have decided I will write city by city whenever I will get time. I will write on Jaipur because this was my first day in Rajasthan.

Jaipur,

Jaipur the pink city and also the capital of Rajasthan a superb city to be there. We can found royalty of olden time in the people, places upfront. You can find traveller like us on Jaipur roads, monuments very easily...

Before coming here I had prepeard list I deceided to go with a propoer guide as I do not know much about the local language but I have done my home work...so I had list with me but I gave chance to my tour operator to show his talent :)

We started with Hawa Mahal (pls excuse me if I mis spelt) the heritage legend which so big and place of winds if not a wrong name for this. I don't remeber the exact date of consutruction, built by etc and you can easily google abou these details...Hawa Mahal definatly one of the Finest Heritage place of Jaipur a five story building and if am not wrong this have amazing 900+ plus windows...It was built to let Ladies see the day to day life in Jaipur as it use to be a conservative thinking of "Purdah (cover)" so that they can't be seen but they can see. Its amazing built of Red sandstone skin this is situated in the centre of city. If you actually want to see its beauty the watch in the early morning...it look perfect!

Next visit was of City palace which is still the Royal Residence for Rajasthan rulers. It host a beautful museum apart from royal residence (Chandra mahal). Again the crown of Jaipur's City mahal is built by Red colour sandstone...Can't forgot to mention these monuments are finest example of excellent architecture. This also other building like Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal. Again City palace is also in the heart of City Jaipur...

I will have to rush but my next post will be continued on Jaipur...
